We are delighted to share that the Burson Timekeeper Voyager monoblocks have been named WINNER – Power Amplifier Under £10K in the hi-fi+ Awards 2026, published in hi-fi+ Issue 250. The amplifier was first reviewed in Issue 248 by Kevin Fiske.
Why hi-fi+ chose the Timekeeper Voyager
In the awards write-up, hi-fi+ explains that the tester, Kevin Fiske, felt that the Voyager’s “rhythmic flow, tonal density and texture give it the edge over its competitors.” The magazine adds: “Rarely is it possible to enjoy music with such unreserved delight, especially in so compact a package.”
Deep Class A bias
hi-fi+ notes that the Timekeeper Voyager is officially a Class A/B mono amplifier, but it operates in Class A up to 32 watts, with 200 watts of power consumption at idle. In the magazine’s words, “The deep Class A bias means that the Voyager performs flawlessly in this regard.” It also writes: “Bass guitarists often speak of playing ‘in the pocket’, and if we want to understand what that sounds like, the Voyager monoblocks can teach us.”
Design highlights from the award
- A dual-differential design, with Exicon MOSFETs and 100W per monoblock into 8 ohms.
- A switchable buffer that uses swappable discrete op-amps.
- The power supply for each monoblock is split into two sections.
- The standard Supercharger is a wall-wart supply. The optional Fusion Core stands on its own feet, uses a kettle lead and a locking umbilical, delivers more than twice the current, and is Burson’s first GaN power supply.
