In his audioreviews.org review, Jürgen Kraus installed Burson V7 Classic Pro op amps in his Burson Funk, fed by an EarMen Tradutto DAC, and compared them with the V6 Classic.
Moving from the V6 Classic to the V7 Classic made a “huge sonic difference – as if a curtain was lifted”. The V7 Classic tightened the bass, shaped the vocals and added transparency, clarity and resolution. In his words: “The Funk was a totally new amplifier for my ears.”
He describes the V7 Classic as leaner, more accurate and substantially more dynamic than the V6 Classic, with vocals more forward. Next to it, he finds the V7 Vivid the punchier of the two.
He calls the V7 Classic an “excellent opamp and a huge technical improvement over the V6 Classic”, and the V7 series “superb opamps that you can use in any amplifier”.
