William listened to the Soloist GT4 with his HiFiMan Susvara and HE1000 Unveiled headphones, fed by DACs including the Shanling ET3, Topping D70S and Audio-GD R8 MKII.

Highlights from The Headphone Experience

  • “Outstanding detail and clarity, nice slightly warm, slightly rich, slightly vivid sound”
  • “Large, deep, three-dimensional sound stage”
  • “The level of detail and clarity on this amp is excellent”
  • “The dynamics of this are very punchy, very solid bass”
  • “This thing is loaded with features… the menu is very easy to use”
  • The volume control is “super precise”, moving in half-decibel steps, with three gain levels to choose from
  • Build quality is “very solid”, with a thick aluminium chassis
  • It “does a very good job with the Susvara”

The V7 Vivid op amps

On the Burson V7 Vivid op amps in the Deluxe package, William said they make the music “a little more exciting, a little more intense, and a little more emotional. And I really like them.”
