Burson V7 Vivid Pro Review by jjazzifi: Simple Word Is Wow

Post Info

jjazzifi, a Burson Soloist 3XR GT owner who had been running V6 Vivid op amps, reviewed a set of V7 Vivid Pro op amps in the same amp, listening through HIFIMAN Arya Stealth headphones with an Eversolo A8 and a Chord TT2 with M Scaler.

Tighter and More Agile

Compared with the V6 Vivid, he heard a tighter, more agile sound with a drier, more precise bass, better separation and cleaner notes. Midrange openness and transparency improved, vocals gained a fuller tone, and the treble became more articulate and crisp.

A Curtain Removed

He likens the change to removing “a thin curtain that was still between you and the artist”. Where the V6 Vivid could occasionally show a touch of treble sharpness, he found that the V7 Vivid Pro never sounded harsh, even with more detail.

Stage, Depth and Background

On live and busy recordings he heard much more stage and depth, better layering and a very dark background, while the sound stayed musical rather than analytical.

Verdict

He found the V7 Vivid “totally transparent and uncolored”, never harsh, bright or overly analytical. His summary: “simple word is wow, yes WOW!”
