This is my first Burson product. I’ve only just opened the box but it looks sensational and I can’t wait to start listening to it.
The System
Listening with
- Impedance: 35 Ω
- Sensitivity: 105 dB SPL / 1 mW @ 1 kHz ≈ 119.6 dB/V (calc.)
- Frequency response: 5 Hz – 23 kHz
- Plugs / cables supplied: 3.5 mm cable (1.2 m) (per datasheet)
Matching notes: At 35 Ω and 105 dB/mW, the Focal Elegia is a low-impedance load, and an efficient one: about 0.33 V (3.2 mW, 9.5 mA) for 110 dB SPL (calc.). Burson does not publish a 35 Ω rating for the Funk. Its 32 Ω and 100 Ω ratings (2.5 W SE; 0.6 W SE) fall either side of it. The Funk’s under 2 Ω headphone output impedance is less than 1/18 of the load. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
- Impedance: 32 Ω
- Sensitivity: 103 dB SPL / mW @ 1 kHz ≈ 117.9 dB/V (calc.)
- Frequency response: 15 Hz – 25 kHz
- Plugs / cables supplied: dual 3.5 mm TS cup sockets; 6.3 mm and airplane adapters
- Other: max input 50 mW
Matching notes: At 32 Ω and 103 dB/mW, the 99 Noir is a low-impedance load, and an efficient one: about 0.4 V (5 mW, 13 mA) for 110 dB SPL (calc.). Burson rates the Funk at 2.5 W (SE) into 32 Ω, which is about 8.9 V RMS (calc.), roughly 27 dB more than that. The Funk’s under 2 Ω headphone output impedance is less than 1/16 of the load. Specs from manufacturer data unless a source below says otherwise. “calc.” values are worked out from those figures (V = √(P × R); 110 dB SPL used as a loud reference level). Gear listed without specs is not in our spec library yet.
