had to get some extended 8pin sockets to clear the capacitors, all said and done within 5min, running great, sounds great. first test run, everything flat, sbx off, very impressive, tunning just a bit, outstanding, can’t wait to get the v6v or v6c setup for my other zxr card. Sound stage became much wider, more bass, more treble, speaker became less picky on position and angle. But during the diy, i found out that the pins hole on the pcb is wider than the v5 op amp. So i used 2 unit of 4 pin holder. And i need to bend the holder inwards […]
They play very precise but not harsh,naturally and dynamic with lots of air around the instruments if it is on the cd. I like the structure in bass very much.It’s also punchy :-) Over all it sounds clear but not thin.
In this CD player I have two dual V5 Op amps and two singl V5 op amps. I’ll send another registration, because I use two V6 classic in same equipment… And I will tell some words about my SS Op amp expirience…
Two V5 dual Op amps made Project Tube box phono preamp two class higher. Originally op-amps in this preamp were TL 072. Hi, it was a huge improvement after changing opamps on output and next to input stage of my tuned Rotel preamp. At the beginning I had made Andy Groove upgrade after that I have changed caps to Mundorf silver oil. Finally, I have decided to change to Burson’s opamps…Best Regards, Arek

Thanks a lot, Burson Audio for great after sales response, I got replace for my V5 Dual. Now, going more mod to my Sound Blaster ZXR, replace all factory caps using Silmic II, and bypass V5 PSU using Wima 0.1uf MKP10. Going better on all around than before!! Thanks, Burson audio.
