Ludwik Hegel of the Polish blog Stereo i Kolorowo reviewed the Burson Conductor GT4 Deluxe. He gave it his “Strongly Recommends” badge and named it his choice of 2025 among headphone amplifiers with a DAC. The review is in Polish, so the quotes below are our own translation.

Burson Conductor GT4 Deluxe Build and Features

The review unit came from Audeos, the new Polish distributor, in the Deluxe package with V7 Vivid op-amps, SP02 modules and the Super Charger 5A. Ludwik praises the industrial “Cool Case”, the copper volume knob and buttons, and the solid, attractive build. He also likes the subwoofer output, which can be used while listening on headphones, and the option to add Timekeeper GT4 monoblocks.

Sound: “A High-End Reference in Every Inch”

Ludwik describes a powerful, athletic and engaging sound that is also very even and coherent, as well as clean, detailed and precise. He found the midrange full and juicy without congestion, and the treble bright and intense yet never aggressive or metallic. The bass is strong and substantial but fast, well controlled and integrated with the rest. He calls the space truly three-dimensional and very expansive. “To referencja high-end w każdym calu”: a high-end reference in every inch.

Headphone Pairings

He used the Sennheiser HD 550, Shanling HW600, Fostex TH610, SIVGA SV023, Aune SR7000 and Aune AR5000, and says all of them sounded fantastic. His favourite pairing was the Shanling HW600 planar.

Pros and Cons

  • Pros: reference high-end sound, high power, many inputs and outputs including XLR and a subwoofer output, swappable op-amps, horizontal or vertical placement, made in Melbourne.
  • Cons: the XLR headphone output is already fairly loud at the lowest volume steps, the menu navigation is not very ergonomic, it uses USB-C rather than USB-B, there is no 4.4mm Pentaconn output, the case runs hot, and the price is relatively high.
