Watch: Gus Gonzalez reviews the Super Charger
From skeptic to convert
“At first I was skeptical because I have never personally tested something like this on my gear”. His conclusion after testing: “it does work”.
How it sounds
- “A sort of a darker backdrop for your instruments which helps with separation”
- A smoother presentation of the highs, “not in lesser detail and not necessarily rolled off but just smoother like less sharp less aggravating”
- “It’s in the very fine details”, helping you get “those extra let’s say three five last percent” of your audio experience
An honest note
He calls the effect “highly situational”. It depends on the quality of your mains power and on the rest of your chain. For most people he suggests upgrading headphones, IEMs, DACs or speakers first. But “if you are someone who already has awesome gear”, the Super Charger “can definitely help you get to that extra like those last three five percent of the experience”.
Verdict
“This is definitely worth looking into”. And on his own experience: “now I basically want several of them it’s pretty awesome I’m very happily surprised with the results of my testing”.
