Massive difference in clarity and soundstage. The bass is much tighter and I can hear more of the nuances in the sound. The highs have more air to them as well.
Im very happy with V5i opamps, now the sound its louder and clear compared with Sound Blaster X7 stock opamps.
Install was easy. So far I am noticing improved separation, deeper mid-bass, and a high end sparkle that seems to be settling in as I listen. I feel the V5i has made an improvement.

The DacMagic 100 has a standard NE5532 installed. The sound is OK but somehow unspectacular. Somewhat difficult was the installation of the SOP8 to DIP8 adapter. Bass hits harder and feels tighter. Not as distorted at higher volumes. Highs are more balanced and dont sound as harsh as they did with my DT 990 Pro’s.
The V5i is used in 2 devices. It brings all the finesse and dynamics for the DAC and also for the headphone amp. The bass is perfect, present and fast, without hiding the medium and highs. A real success.
