The stock op amp to be replaced was an NE5532P. The V5i was well burnt in so, I immediately installed a Wima 0.1uF foil capacitor across pins 4 & 8 (a fresh couple of Elna Slimic II 220uF are in order as well as soon as the mail parcel arrives…). The wee old yet proven phono stage was given a new lease of life: better dynamics and different, broader soundstage, increase in detail, tighter and extended bass, and faster attack. Very nice!
